Future Scope
The Great Cosmic Force has been good to me these past
few months, and continues to do so with unnerving
consistency. A man ought only be afforded so much
good karma.
--
I recently appeared in Faesthetic 12, thanks to the kindness
of its founder and curator Dustin Amery Hostetler aka UPSO.
It is my first comic published in physical format. Other artists
featured include John MacNair, Emmanuel Romeuf and a
great many others. It is available for purchase at the above link.
--
John Trippe was kind enough to include me in the holiday group
show "Side 2 Side" at Fecal Face Dot Gallery, which opened on
December 10th and will be up for about a week. The list of other
artists is long and mighty, and it is an honor to appear among them.
All of the work is brilliant and affordable. I highly recommend
stopping by before it comes down.
--
Reynard Seifert posted a few of my comics on his site hahaclever.com.
There is some excellent writing and music to be seen/heard, as well
as some comics by the unreasonably talented Jonny Negron. I've had
the pleasure of collaborating with Jonny for the past few weeks - all
I can say is that the guy is going to take the comics world by storm
when he decides to make himself known.
--
Finally - in March I will be having my third solo exhibition at The Krate,
a Clothing/Record/Art Boutique in Santa Cruz, California.
--
Stay tuned for updates. Thanks for stopping by.

Brain Grain
"Doesn't look like that dog is too interested in the art!" Thanks mom!
Thanks to anyone who made it to the Fecal Face opening a few weeks
back, and thanks to everyone with the courage to spend a little money
on a drawing. Well done. More thanks: Thanks to my girlfriend for all the time
spent helping with(doing) everything I put off until the last second and thanks
to the Trippes for running such a fine website and gallery and sailboat and
for taking these photos of my big night and thanks to the SF Chronicle for doing
that nice little write up and thanks to MJ for reminding everybody that, in spite
of advances in modern medicine, it is no less important to take good care of your heart!
Thanks!
---
The above piece went to the insanely well curated Scribble 08
film premier/exhibition. Everything on the walls with the exception of
this was top notch. Thanks again to Mark Murphy for the opportunity.

In other news, for those of you who are looking to have your eyes at least
partially opened to some ideas that will surely throw a wrench in your daily
routine, do yourself a favor and go check out one(or all three) of these books
from the library. Daniel Quinn is the frumpy bitter old man behind the books;
and while he is perhaps a little too self important and redundant for his own
good, the man has some pointed things to say about how things got to be this way
and how to look at our culture's collective situation without sighing hopelessly.

The Story of B
My Ishmael
Ideally they will act as a spring board for your brain into a totally new and incredibly
relevant realm of attainable knowledge! In other words: don't have kids until you've
read these books! Algebraic!

Julyth
My first solo show inside San Francisco will be taking place at Fecal
Face Dot Gallery July 8th-11th as a part of their In-N-Out series.
Each artist is granted one week to fill the gallery with new work.
Gigantic thanks to John Trippe for the fine opportunity and for his
daily service to the art community. Head here for more info.
Also next month is the Scribble08 Film Premier and Art Exhibition
where I will have one 18"x18" piece on display. The event takes place
Thursday July 23rd from 6:30PM-11:30PM at Wonderhaus in San
Diego(1600 National Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113). The date coincides
with Comic-Con, so if you're in the area do stop by. The lineup is ridiculous
and I consider myself extremely fortunate to be involved.
Other artists:
Tim Biskup, Cathie Bleck, Matthew Bone, Kelsey Brookes, Marc Burckhardt,
Sas Christian, Kevin Christy, Christian and Rob Clayton, Robert Connett,
Tony Fitzpatrick, AJ Fosik, Femke Hiemstra, Hiru Kurata, James Jean,
Chris Mars, Jeff Soto, Gary Taxali, Thesis, Mark Todd, Damon Soule,
Esther Pearl Watson, Kent Williams, and Martin Wittfooth

Full Steam Ahead
There are a lot of extremely exciting things coming up in the next few months.
This will be the place to find out about them as they approach.
I am still working on getting my etsy store up and running. I'm in the process
of moving right now, so it will probably be a few more weeks before it's where
I'd like it to be.

The Protectors of Heaven
The Protectors of Heaven are soon to be available as a pack of three 5x7
xerox prints on some pretty average card stock. But it's a recession, right?
Signed and limited to 40 sets. $10 each. Thanks to my lovely girlfriend
whose idea it was to make them and who dragged my lazy ass around the
city to get them done. I'll let you folks know when they're officially available.

Sketch Tuesday
Coverage over at Fecal Face.
For those folks who've not attended, Sketch Tuesday happens
every third Tuesday(roughly) at 111 Minna. The Fecal Face
calendar generally has the exact date each month. There are
always a bunch of great artist making great art and selling it
on the spot for next to nothing. For collectors it's a good place
to buy, and for artists it's an excellent place to meet other
artists and trade with them.
